Every marketing tool you have ever used has claimed to make you money. Almost none of them have proven it. There is a difference, and it is the difference between "we sent 500 WhatsApp messages" and "here is the SAR 6,200 those messages actually made you that would not have shown up otherwise."

The trick, if you can call something this simple a trick, is the holdout. Before Rizecart launches a cart-recovery message, a bundle offer, or a winback campaign, it quietly sets aside 10% of the eligible customers and sends them nothing. Same product, same timing, same conditions, minus the message. Then it waits and watches what both groups do.

What the two groups actually do

The 90% who got the WhatsApp nudge convert at some rate. The 10% who got nothing convert at a lower rate, because some of them would have come back anyway, on their own, with no help from you. That baseline rate is the truth about what your store does without intervention. The gap between the two groups, scaled back up to the full 100%, is the number Rizecart reports as incremental profit. It is the only part of the result that Rizecart can honestly take credit for.

This matters because most reported "results" in marketing are last-click attribution: whoever touched the customer last gets full credit for a sale that might have happened anyway. A customer who was always going to reorder her favourite oud gets a WhatsApp reminder, orders, and the tool takes 100% credit for a sale it did nothing to cause. Multiply that across every channel and every tool a store uses, and you get the well-known problem of five different dashboards each claiming they personally drove all your revenue, when the real total obviously cannot exceed what actually got sold.

Holdouts fix this at the root, because they do not ask "did this customer buy," they ask "did this customer buy more, or sooner, than an identical customer who saw nothing." That is the only question that separates real lift from coincidence.

It costs you something, honestly. Ten percent of eligible customers get no rescue, no reminder, no offer, for as long as the test runs. Some of those carts genuinely are lost that did not need to be. We think that cost is worth it, because it is the only way any of the other ninety percent's results mean anything. A tool that claims credit for everything is really claiming credit for nothing you can trust.

This is also why the Rizecart guarantee is structured the way it is: 90 days, and if the holdout math cannot show real incremental profit in that window, you get your subscription back in full. Not because we are generous. Because we are the ones who built the ruler, and we think it is only fair that we get measured by it too.
